Took a walk today

I was at work one day 2 weeks ago, remembering my first two trips to NOLA.  2003 and 2004.  I had been thinking how much I had enjoyed it then.  It was an adventure.  I was also thinking how much the place feels like home to me.  I reached into my pockets to pull out the loose change I had, I wanted to see if I had enough to get a bottle of pop from the vending machine.  As I was counting this nickle in the picture caught my eye.  When I saw what it was I turned it over to check the date of the coin....

Something about cemeteries draws me in everytime.  This is one of my favorite places to visit in New Orleans.  I always make it a point to visit the cities of the dead.

                                                  Truth is light,

                                                                                                      Beauty bright
                                                                                                    I see its reflection
                                                                                            in this stained glass section
                                                                                               A white Winged angel,
                                                                                            Presents a lily to a virgin
                                                                                            "Hail Mary full of grace..."

                                                                                      I see bright colors, red and blue
                                                                                       Pale reflections of heavens hues
                                                                               Reflections of truth and God's pure light
                                                                                      Prisms of night in full moonlight

                                                                                                  To have and to hold 
                                                                                                          A kiss so cold.
                                                                                                    till Death do us part,
                                                                                                        marriage in art.
